Balmain Swim Club is back – Sunday 2 Nov 2025– 8am @ Dawny
The Balmain Amateur Swimming Club is probably the longest operating sporting club in Australia. We think it most definitely is, books have been published about this, and we would love a historian to fact check this.
Over the past 137 years, we have been registered as the Balmain Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club and the Balmain Amateur Swimming and Water Polo Club – since 1884ish. The club sporting activities have been swimming, diving, lifesaving and water polo – and always at the historic harbour pool at Whitehorse Point Balmain (Dawn Fraser Baths).
We are registered as Balmain Amateur Swimming Club and associated with Swimming Australia. Registrations go through Swimming NSW's portal Swim Central.
Each of the following links will take you to the AUS Swim's Swim Central portal where you will need to create an account to be able to register.
We have set up 3 registration classes. Click on the relevant link below to register for each swimmer and non-swimmer. You can only access these registration links from this page.
This will take you to the AUS Swim Swim Central registration page.
Swimmers and Non-swimmers will have to register – we require this for membership and insurance reasons. No register = No swim or No BBQ.
There is a modest charge on top of the Swimming NSW requirements to cover pool hire, medals, equipment and to ensure you are a financial members of the club and for tomato sauce (apparently this is a significant cost in running the BBQ)
Any junior swimmers must be linked to a registered parent/carer
The registration affiliates you as a Swimming Australia and Swimming NSW supporter.
If you are having problems registering and paying online (it is not always a simple process then please contact admin@balmainswimclub.org.au.
When you register, by selecting one of the options above, you will be taken to the NSW Swimming registration portal. There are a few steps to this and you will have a registration screens like the one below!
